Soccer fans in Jacksonville showed up early and in force Thursday night as the United States faced Paraguay in their World Cup opener. The US is co-hosting the tournament alongside Mexico and Canada.

FIFA, the world’s governing body of soccer and organizer of the World Cup, will announce the host cities for the 2026 World Cup during a 5 p.m. ET event in New York City.
