ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Hours after a pileup involving two tractor-trailers and a pickup truck pulling a trailer, Interstate 95 at State Road 16 has fully reopened.
The northbound lanes were blocked from County Road 207 to State Road 16 from before dawn until almost noon after the crash and a resulting 100-gallon diesel fuel spill, causing a massive traffic backup in St. Johns County through rush hour and beyond.
Then materials cleaned up from the wreck caught on fire, causing the highway to close again for another 45 minutes.

Once the wreck cleared, truckloads of sand were trucked onto and spread on the area affected by the fuel spill.
