If you hear gunfire from military boats on the St. Johns River next week, don’t worry: It’s only a drill.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Officers investigating gunfire during a Sunday afternoon youth football jamboree in Greenland Park said it caused the crowd to scatter but apparently no one was hit. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was called to the South Mandarin park around 4:30 p.m. after two men got into an argument and one of them pulled a gun out of a backpack and fired several shots. Detectives said more than 500 players and spectators were in attendance at the Mandarin Athletic Association event. Some neighbors said they heard the shots and one neighbor said this happens all the time at this athletic field. Police are also asking anyone with pictures or video of the event to contact them immediately.
