Hoping to increase awareness about a spike in Northeast Florida hospitalizations due to COVID-19, Jacksonville-area leaders and infectious disease experts came together Thursday evening for a town hall to address the recent surge in cases.

Starting Thursday, an estimated 40,000 Florida families will begin receiving $250 to $300 payments as part of the American Rescue Plan’s Child Tax Credit program.
