Run 4 the Rolls began as a way to honor the memory of UNF student Tristan Klepzig. Running was Tristan’s favorite activity, and his family created a virtual event to celebrate his life and bring people together through his passion. Last year, Auld & White Constructors partnered with the family to host the first in-person 5K, welcoming 698 runners, 32 sponsors, and raising $50,000 for The Compassionate Friends. This year’s event takes place Saturday, October 24, with proceeds benefiting the ACE Mentor Program of Northeast Florida through the Tristan Klepzig Scholarship. Non-profit hosting a fun(d)raising 5K to support people with different abilities

Jacksonville Fun, Eats and Events is hosting its first-ever Wing Eating Contest and Hot Sauce Challenge on Saturday, September 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Myrtle Avenue Brewing. The event will bring the community together for a lively meetup featuring wings, a local craft market, and a special meet-and-greet with rock musician Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal. Guests can also sample Bumblefoot’s hot sauce and join what organizers describe as their biggest and most exciting meetup yet. Tabitha Hootman, Project Lead for Turtle Survival Alliance’s Team Terrapin, joined us to discuss Drink Beer, Save Turtles, a community fundraiser supporting Diamondback terrapin conservation and research in Northeast Florida. Team Terrapin is a volunteer-driven conservation program that monitors terrapin populations, conducts research, protects coastal habitat, and educates the community about this unique species.
