Man critically injured in Flagler motorcycle crash
FLAGLER CO, Fla. – A man has been hospitalized in critical condition after he, on his motorcycle, was struck by another vehicle, Saturday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Eddie Davis Junior, 50, was stopped on the side of US 1 just south of Old Kings Road North. Another motorcyclist, Richard Kenney, was also stopped next to Davis.
The driver of a Dodge Neon, Alexis Jacquart, was traveling south on US 1 when she hit the backside of Davis' motorcycle. Davis was thrown to the side of the road and Kenney was knocked off his motorcycle.
Jacquart steered off the roadway, hitting a tree, and continued driving for a bit before stopping, investigators said.
Davis was air-lifted to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach where he remains in critical condition. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Kenney sustained minor injuries.
Investigators are not sure why Davis was originally stopped on the side of the road.
