JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – All lanes of I-295 northbound at Town Center Pkwy were completely shut down Thursday morning because of a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck.
A silver SUV and a motorcycle collided, and the motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.
It was the second motorcycle crash of the morning. Another on Roosevelt Boulevard earlier left a motorcyclist dead.
According to our News4JAX records, there were 47 motorcycle deaths in Duval County in 2021. Thursday morning’s deadly crash marks 20 motorcyclists killed in Duval County so far this year.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area of 295 and Town Center Parkway if possible.
