Bicyclist hit by car, killed on Pecan Park Road: JSO

A man in his mid-30s was hit and killed Thursday morning while riding a bicycle on Pecan Park Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded to the crash at 6:37 a.m. on Pecan Park Road just east of I-95.
JSO said the man was riding his bicycle east on Pecan Park Road when he was hit by a Toyota sedan driven by a woman in her 50s.
Paramedics responded but the man died at the scene.
The driver was cooperating with investigators and had no signs of impairment, JSO said. This is the 148th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the ninth involving a bicyclist.
Pecan Park Road will remain closed just east of I-95 until about 10 a.m., police said.
