JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man riding a minibike down Beaver Street on Wednesday morning died after he collided with a Ford F-150 service truck, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the minibike was not licensed to be ridden on a roadway, and the rider was not wearing a helmet when he crashed.

According to JSO, around 6 a.m. Wednesday, a man in his early 40s was stopped at a red light eastbound on Beaver Street, waiting to turn left onto northbound Lane Avenue.
When the turn signal changed to a green arrow, the driver of the F-150 started to turn, and the man on the minibike, who was headed west on Beaver Street, hit the front of the truck, JSO said.
The minibike rider died at the scene.
JSO said the driver of the F-150 remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police did not indicate if he was hurt.
JSO said this is the 17th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
