Firefighters battling 300-acre brush fire in Nassau County

A large fire is burning off Conner Nelson Road, just north of Bay Road. The Florida Forest Service’s Jacksonville Forestry Center has dispatched two firefighting tractor-plow units to the scene. The fire is estimated to be 300 acres and is 10 percent contained, according to the Florida Forest Service.
