17-year-old, 3 young adults injured in weekend shooting on Jacksonville’s Westside: JSO

A 17-year-old and three young adults were hurt Saturday night in a shooting on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.  Officers were called around 11:40 p.m. Saturday to Ortega Woods Drive in the Duclay Forest area of the Westside because of reports that someone had been shot. Officers found three men, ages 18-20, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. All three were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening. JSO said that around the same time, officers received another call from Ortega Park Boulevard, just a couple of minutes away. They found the fourth victim, a 17-year-old boy who was treated for a gunshot wound at the scene and released. Police have not identified a suspect but said they do not believe the four victims knew the shooter. Anyone with information can call JSO at 904-630-0500, email JSOCRIMETIPS@JAXSHERIFF.ORG or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
