  NO PARTY AFFILIATION CANDIDATE

Jane Gentile-Youd

Occupation: Designated Broker/Realtor

Age: 65+

Your family: Husband Mark 31 years married

Education: 2 years college

Political experience: former Community council and zoning board member Miami Dade-County, chair County Country Club Incorporation Advisory Board; member Flagler County long range Planning Board

What do you see as the top three issues you’ll likely face while holding this office?

  1. Intolerable out of control growth resulting from totally irresponsible zoning changes and variances favoring developers with no regard for necessary infrastructure and level of services. It has to stop.
  2. Second area of concern relates to growth with the addition of new portables in our schools while officials at the same time are trying to cut impact fees for developers.and succeeding.
  3. My 3rd area of concern is returning our emergency Fire Flight rescue Helicopter service back to the 24/7 service we had until 2013 when it was cut back to the current 8 hours a day. With an doubling in population and with increasing vehicle accidents this is a must. I am lobbying right now for a minimum $300,000 increase in the fire department to accomplish this.

How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?

  • I have been active in local issues since moving here in April 2002 when I lobbied for a $200,000 FDOT grant to enhance our local right of way with trees, shrubs and safety features on a dangerous bridge and I have not stopped since. I am a citizen watchdog on almost all issues regarding our tax dollars; I attend 80% of county commission meetings, lobby for and against issues and join forces with those residents who are being wronged by the county.

What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?

  • For making Flagler County a more honest, more beautiful and safest community in all of Florida to live.
