Florida House District 14 sits within Duval County, stretching from Brooklyn and downtown north to include a sliver of Northwest Jacksonville and much of the Northside east of Lem Turner Road and south of Interstate 295 as well as Arlington and part of the Southside north of the Hart Expressway to Beach Boulevard and west of Southside Boulevard.
Democratic incumbent Kimberly Daniels drew one challenger, Rhian Tutson, also a Democrat. As no other candidates qualified in this race, the August primary will be a Universal Primary Contest, open to all voters in the district.

What do you see as the top three issues in this race, and how do you plan to address them?
Public safety reform, affordability, and government accountability. On public safety, I’m bringing 15+ years of frontline experience as a former Florida Highway Patrol Trooper and Traffic Homicide Investigator and DCF Child Protective Investigator — my Come Home Act would end mandatory minimums statewide, eliminate cash bail, and properly staff FHP. On affordability, my Reclaim and Restore Act directs real investment into historically redlined Northside and Westside communities, and my Families First Act tackles childcare costs and paid parental leave. On accountability, I’m pushing the Nothing But the Truth Act to protect educators from misuse of state statutes and the Citizen Legislator Amendment to end career politicians clinging to power instead of serving people.
How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
I’ve lived the systems I’m asking to fix from the inside. I’ve investigated child welfare cases, worked traffic fatalities as a state trooper, and now investigate misconduct allegations for Duval County Public Schools — I’m not theorizing about broken systems, I’ve worked inside them and seen exactly where they fail families. I also sit on the Jacksonville Housing and Community Development Commission, so I understand how local and state policy connect on the ground in District 14.
I’m also running this campaign accountable to the people of District 14, not to PAC money. My fundraising is built around “$14 for District 14″ — small, grassroots contributions from the people I’ll actually answer to in Tallahassee. That means my votes won’t be for sale to whoever writes the biggest check. My loyalty is to my constituents, period.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
Igniting real, lasting change for the people of District 14 — not just passing bills, but rebuilding trust between government and the communities it’s supposed to serve. I’d want to be remembered for proving that someone who spent her career protecting people in crisis could go to Tallahassee and actually deliver for Northside, Westside, and Downtown Jacksonville — safer streets, stronger schools, and a government that finally invests in its people instead of overlooking them.
