The current Palatka Mayor/Commissioner, Robbi Correa, is seeking re-election and faces three challengers: Tatyiana Henry Daniel, Constance Daniels, and Karl Flagg. This is a non-partisan race, so it will appear on the August ballot for all voters in the city of Palatka, regardless of party affiliation. If no candidate gets more than 50% of the votes, the top two vote-getters will advance to the general election in November.

Tatyiana Henry Daniel
Occupation: Cashier at Publix and property manager for Northside Village apartments, an affordable housing complex.
Age: 22
Family: Patricia Daniel and Junior Roger Daniel (Grandparents)
Education: Finished high school with a diploma, graduating from Putnam Virtual School and a GPA of 4.32
Political experience: I don’t have much. Most of the experience I have is when my grandfather, Junior Roger Daniel ran for mayor in 2022. I helped with his campaign and learned from his experiences.
What do you see as the top three issues in this race, and how do you plan to address them?
One of the top three issues I’ve noticed is the infrastructure of our roads. I can see the current people in office are wanting to redo them and make them look nicer, but they’re not fixing the main issue. They replace piping, they repave, but the underling issue is the drainage. During heavy rainfall, one drain for every other block or so is not going to catch all the water. The neighborhood roads flood like a mini hurricane came through. And the people in office either don’t seem to notice is problem, or simply don’t care. I want to address this by simply bringing it to their attention and not pointless spend taxpayers money and do everything right the first time. Another is the lack of good jobs. Yes, we have plenty of fast food places (we need more proper restraunts), but the only good full-time jobs we have are factories, Seminole and Georgia Pacific. With the way the current economy is, citizens have to drive to other counties just to find jobs that pay better money. I want to bring better jobs here so we have more selection, especially for our youth coming out of college. The final thing is our sources of entertainment. Yes, we have annual events like the Blue Crab festival, the county fair, but we don’t have many places family can go to on a day to day basis. Yes, we have parks, yes we have a bowling hall (but it could be better), but there’s so much more we could have. I have people who move from other towns to here asking me, “What is there to do around here for fun?”. And most of the time I can’t really tell them anything, which is sad. Palatka is an awesome town, and I want people moving here (which is a lot, by the way) to have reasons to stay. I envision bringing new and excited places to stray off the sense of boredom.
How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
Like I said before, I want to show voters my vision for the city. I want them to know that change is needed, even if in small actions.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
I want to be remembered by showing that even youth can achieve great things and inspire those who come after me and allow them to carry the torch onwards into the future.

I have a proven track record on servant leadership. I am a consensus builder who brings my problem solving skills and a purpose driven approach to our challenges.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
That our Mayor facilitated a brighter future for successive generations who inherited a city that created greater opportunities, protected the cultural charm and historical significance, by being fiscally responsible and left Palatka more prosperous and prepared.
