Scattered thunderstorms build Tuesday late afternoon/evening

Happy Tuesday!

Temperatures will continue warming this afternoon into the seasonal mid to low 70s with a mix of sun and clouds. Showers build over the Gulf and track east throughout the day.

Scattered thunderstorms will track east by late afternoon/early evening. These storms will be capable of producing periods of heavy rainfall, strong winds, frequently lightning, and we can’t rule out the chance for isolated tornadoes.

Storms will continue through the night leading into early Wednesday morning. We’ll get a brief break in the morning before storms build again around lunch Wednesday and last through mid afternoon.

Daytime highs Wednesday will climb into the mid to upper 70s.

We’ll dry out Thursday with mostly sunny skies and highs near 80.
