Rain and some thunderstorms to put you to sleep

There are many wet areas dealing with rain totals over 1 inch that fell very quickly. Places in St. Johns county have seen .25″ of rainfall in just 5 minutes time! The heavy rain rates will lead to individual flash flooding as we saw in Riverside and around Green Cove Springs.

Rain covers a good portion of St. Johns, all of Clay county, and points southward.  Occasional showers will continue with times of heavy rain around Jacksonville overnight.

Tomorrow will start without rain in the morning but the pause won’t last long. Rain could be heavy at times tomorrow afternoon with an 80% chance. Much of it will last into the early evening again.

Morning lows Friday will be in the 70s with afternoon highs in the 80s. Wind SE 10-15 mph.

A low pressure system in the Gulf will draw moisture our way through Saturday keeping rain around this weekend.

Looking ahead: The wet pattern continues through Sunday. Widespread rounds of rain, some locally heavy will result in flooding.
