Windy overnight as Ian lifts North

Drier weekend

Thursday evening forecast

The weather slowly improved during the evening hours, but the wind will remain in place for the overnight. The strongest wind will remain along the coast, where some tidal flooding may also occur. Overnight lows will be in the 60s.

Better weather is expected Friday, but it will still be windy. The worst wind will be in southeast Georgia as Ian pushes into the Carolinas. Expect some sunshine during the day with highs in the upper 70s.

The weather looks great for cleanup this weekend. We’ll see plenty of sun both Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the low 80s.

The quiet conditions look to continue heading into next week.
