Shands Bridge closing this weekend for maintenance

The Florida Department of Transportation will temporarily close the Shands Bridge this weekend to allow for scheduled maintenance work.

The closure begins at 9 p.m. Friday, May 15, and the bridge is expected to reopen by 4 a.m. Sunday, May 17.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during the closure. FDOT recommends using the Buckman Bridge or the Memorial Bridge in Palatka, and drivers should allow additional travel time to reach their destinations.
