Rain chances this evening and much colder temps on the way

Wednesday evening forecast

It was a cloudy Wednesday across the area, and the clouds and drizzle will remain this evening. Some showers will move onshore, primarily north of Ponte Vedra. Expect evening temps in the low 50s.

Later tonight, the showers will exit across the region with mild temperatures. We’ll see morning lows in the low 50s.

Warmer weather is on the way for Thursday. We will again see plenty of cloud cover with a few light showers possible. Highs for Thursday will be in the mid 60s.

The big change arrives on Friday. A powerful arctic cold front will blast through the area, bringing in much cooler air. Morning temps will be in the 50s and 60s, but afternoon highs will only climb into the 40s.

Christmas Eve will feature very chilly conditions. After morning lows in the 20s, sunshine will only allow temps to climb into the low 40s for highs.

It will be cold for Santa Christmas Eve night, but nothing he’s not used to. We’ll see dry conditions with overnight lows back in the 20s.

Christmas Day will feature slightly warmer weather, but it will still well below average. Expect mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 40s.

A warming trend will get going heading into next week.
