Gate River Run Forecast

Blame the weather if your pace turns slower this year

.

A cold front will make running conditions challenging this year for Saturday’s Gate River Run. It is pushing showers over southern Georgia southward toward the race course by 9-10 am.

Breezy conditions continue with South to Southwest winds blowing around 15 mph putting some headwinds into the first leg into San Marco.

The good news-record heat during the week fades but it is still warm in the low 70s for runners this morning. By the afternoon highs reach the upper 70s as the humidity starts to decline.

Showers are most likely around Duval during the mid-morning and could impact areas south of Green Cove Springs and St. Augustine by early afternoon.

It will also be very breezy with South to Southwest winds blowing around 15 mph putting some headwinds into the first leg into San Marco.

The afternoon will have slowly clearing skies with decreasing humidity which will lead to a cooler night with temps falling into the 60s as you rest your muscles.

Your recovery day looks perfect Sunday with sunny dry weather and comfortable temps in the mid-70s!
