The Heat Advisory continues through 7 p.m. As afternoon highs rise to near record values. We hit 90 degrees at JAX before 11 a.m. This marks the 80th 90-degree day this year. That is the average for an entire year. If we had another 35 days to that trend, we would break a yearly record of 114 days set in 2011.
Tonight: Warm, dry and quiet.
Impact Weather is expected this weekend due to locally heavy rain and the risk of strong to severe storms.
Impact Days are expected this weekend due to locally heavy rain and the risk of strong to severe storms.

Saturday: The focus will start over SE GA as showers and storms develop along the front during the afternoon hours. Heavy downpours are likely, increasing the risk for localized flooding. We will be monitoring locations along the I-10 corridor and northward across SE GA for a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall and a Marginal Risk for locations south of I-10.
In addition to the heavy downpours, there will also be potential for strong to isolated severe thunderstorms to develop during the afternoon hours for areas north of I-10 and SE GA.
Sunday: The front will stall along the FL/GA state line and the I-10 corridor in NE FL. This will set up the potential for heavy rainfall, which continues the threat of localized flooding, particularly for urban and flood prone locations.
Rainfall totals for the weekend are currently estimated to be highest for locations across SE GA, with totals ranging from 1.5″ to 2″, locally higher amounts around 2″ to 4″.

Looking ahead: The unsettled pattern continues Monday as the onshore winds return.
Tropics: No tropical activity is expected for the next 7 days.
