Jacksonville shifts to drier weather pattern

The Weather Authority predicts hot, mostly clear skies—watch for possible weekend storms

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville can expect a much-needed reprieve from the recent rounds of rain as the area is expected to enter a drier weather pattern, but don’t put away the fans.

The temperatures will stay high, with the morning kicking off at around 75 degrees and soaring to 91 degrees by 3 p.m.

Skies are expected to remain mostly clear through the day, and that trend should hold for much of the week.

A lot of the rain that we were set to see sort of mid to the end of the week has now pushed into the weekend.

The Weather Authority’s forecast graphics show daytime highs in Jacksonville hovering around 90 to 91 degrees from Wednesday through Friday, with just a slight dip heading into the weekend.

Localized severe risk

Daily planners and pet owners will want to note that both the bus stop and dog walk forecasts are calling for mostly clear mornings in the 70s, warming into the 90s by early afternoon. That means heat is an important factor to plan around for outdoor activities.

The latest map highlights Gainesville, Palatka and nearby areas as ones to watch for possible pop up non severe storms, though conditions are forecast to remain quiet for most neighborhoods.

But overall, storms are not expected to be widespread.
