Cold Front Brings Storms, Gusty Winds to Southeast

Cooler temperatures follow stormy weather midweek

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected late tonight and tomorrow as a cold front moves across the area. The much-needed rain will arrive with the threat of strong to isolated severe storms. The main hazard will be gusty winds; however, strong storms could produce a quick tornado.

Scattered showers with areas of light rain continue over portions of southeast Georgia, with a few light showers over northeast Florida. These will continue through the evening with showers and isolated storms possible after midnight for interior southeast Georgia and northeast Florida, near and along I-75.

Windy conditions with showers and thunderstorms will move across the area on Tuesday before dissipating during the evening. Cooler temperatures under partly cloudy skies to follow. The chance of showers returns Friday and Saturday.

Tonight: Cloudy with showers possible. Thunderstorms are possible after midnight.

Tuesday: Windy with rounds of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Showers with storms will end around 5 p.m. Morning lows in the 50s and 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s to 70s, possible low 80s along our southern zones. Rain chances 50 to 90 percent. Wind: SW 15-20 mph with stronger gusts. Estimated rainfall totals will average 0.01 - 0.10 for our southern counties and 0.25 - 0.50 for southeast Georgia. Isolated heavier amounts will be possible in stronger storms.
