High Pressure Brings Much Colder Temperatures to Region

Georgia counties under Freeze Warning Monday morning

A Freeze Warning is in effect.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A front has pushed south of our area. Drier and cooler air will filter in for the rest of the day. This evening will be mostly clear and cool with temperatures in the 50s. Temperatures will drop into the 30s and 40s tonight under a clear sky.

A frost/freeze is likely Monday morning across Georgia with temperatures in the 30s. A FREEZE WARNING has been posted for a portion of our Georgia counties for Monday morning.

High pressure will be remain over our area early this week, which means we will see more sunshine. It will be much cooler on Monday and Tuesday behind the front. Highs on Monday will be in the mid to upper 50s and Tuesday will be in the low to mid 60s.

A FREEZE WATCH is in effect for a portion of our Georgia counties for Tuesday morning as well.

Cooler weather will stick around through most of the upcoming week. Highs will range from the 50s and 60s. Another front will likely bring a few showers to our area on late Wednesday through early Thursday morning. This will set the stage for another frost/freeze Friday morning.

Looking ahead through the month the pattern will likely remain cooler. In fact, the Climate Prediction Center has our area highlighted in a high probability of below normal temperatures.
