So you’re saying there’s a chance...
Models are still suggesting a chance of snow showers along with a wintry mix across southeast Georgia early Sunday. Before any snowball fights, we have to get through the first in our series of freezes.
The howling wind will slowly decrease late tonight. The lighter breeze will still have a bite tomorrow morning.
A Freeze Warning will be in effect from 11 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday. The Cold Weather Advisory, due to wind, will be in effect from 4 a.m. - 9 a.m. Friday.
Warmer temperatures on Saturday as cloudy skies develop late. The warmer afternoon highs will keep the ground cover too warm to support accumulation.
Who will see the snow? Southeast Georgia and areas near and along the State line will have the best chance of a passing snow shower or a brief wintry mix. Accumulation is not expected, although calm fields and pastures may see a light glazing. The best chance for a small snowman or a snowball will be off of car tops and exposed patio furniture.
Another round of Freeze Warning and Frost Advisories will be possible Monday through Wednesday.
Tonight: The coldest temperatures of the season will move in tonight. Freeze warning starts at 11 p.m.
Friday: Freeze Warning and Cold Weather Advisory continue through 9 a.m. SW wind at 5 - 10 mph. Morning lows in the 20s and 30s. Sunny skies and afternoon highs in the 50s. Not as cold with patchy frost.
Warmer Saturday with cloudy skies and tumbling temperatures early Sunday.
Sunrise: 7:24 a.m.
