Freeze Warnings Issued as Temperatures Plunge Below Freezing

Warmer weather expected to return midweek

Extra blankets and jackets are needed due to continued cold weather through Wednesday morning. We will see a mix of Hard Freeze and Freeze criteria overnight and early Tuesday for inland southeast Georgia and inland northeast Florida. A light freeze with frost is possible from I-95 to the Golden Isles.

A Freeze Watch for inland southeast Georgia and the I-10 corridor of northeast Florida will become a Freeze Warning on Wednesday.

Warmer temperatures return Wednesday afternoon and will continue through Friday. Rain chances will increase this weekend with models hinting at another strong cold front with the potential of a winter mix possible across southeast Georgia. The question is, how far south will the winter mix reach?

Tonight: Mostly clear, cold with areas of frost. Freeze warning 11 p.m. - 9 a.m.

Tuesday: Freeze Warning through 9 a.m. Areas of frost under clear skies with lows in the 20s and 30s for SE GA, 30s and 40s for NE FL. Afternoon highs in the 50s area wide. Wind: N 10-15 mph. Freeze Warning overnight, early Wednesday.

Warmer afternoon highs return on Wednesday and will continue through Friday.
