A break from the freeze brings warmth before another bout of wintry weather in Southeast Georgia, Northeast Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After the past few mornings of freezing temperatures, today we’ll start a warming trend. While it won’t last too long, we’ll see temperatures soar into the upper 70s, perhaps a few areas in the low 80s throughout the weekend and on Sunday before the rain arrives.

Thursday forecast

This warmer weather precedes another round of rain and cold air sinking in by Monday. Much-needed rainfall is expected Sunday into Monday.

While the wintry weather storm to the north and west will stay north of our Southeast Georgia counties, the impacts of rain and cold will settle in with an inland freeze likely Monday through Wednesday nights.
