Chilly start under clear skies to kick off a warmer weekend across Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Light frost in spots across the area as a Freeze Warning continues west of I-95 in Northeast Florida and for all of Southeast Georgia until 9 a.m.

There’s a bit of a bite in the air with the winds providing feels like temperatures in the upper 20s, staying above Cold Weather Advisory criteria. A rapid warm-up will occur after sunrise.

Plenty of sunshine will warm the region to the lower 60s, right around the average for this time of year. Winds will remain gusty throughout the day from the west to east, possibly blowing wildfire smoke into Duval County from Baker.

Fire danger remains high over the next several days as there isn’t any precipitation in the forecast until late next week.
