The warming trend continues with increasing weekend rain chances

A warmer Wednesday under passing clouds will give way to a mild night with patchy to locally dense fog tonight and early Thursday.

Partly cloudy skies tonight with a light breeze and patchy to dense fog. The fog will lift tomorrow morning with partly cloudy skies and warmer afternoon highs on tap. This warming trend may bring record highs on Friday and Saturday. Between now and then there is a slight chance for scattered showers across southeast Georgia, Thursday and Friday with widespread rain chances this weekend.

Rain chances continue to improve for Saturday and Sunday, with the models showing light amounts, around a half inch.

Behind the front, cooler temperatures will start the week with a light freeze and frost possible on Monday and Tuesday morning.

Thursday: Warmer under partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of an afternoon shower for southeast Georgia. Morning lows in the 50s. Afternoon highs in the 70s to low 80s inland, 70s along our beaches. Wind: S 5-10 mph. Patchy fog overnight. Rain chances10-20 percent.

Friday: Possible record highs with a slight chance of afternoon showers. Morning lows in the 50s and 60s. Afternoon highs in the 70s to low 80s. Wind SW 5-15 mph. Patchy fog overnight. Slight chance of showers, 20 - 40 percent.

Near record highs will be possible Friday and Saturday. The forecast high for each day is 86 degrees. The record for Friday is 86, set in 1961. The record for Saturday is 86, set in 2019.
