Colder weather returns after front moves through

Mid Latitude Cyclone approaches this weekend (NEWS4JAX 2026)

Jacksonville International Airport broke a record high today by reaching 89 degrees. The previous record was 86 degrees set back in 1961.

The pattern of warmer-than-average highs will end over the weekend as a front approaches.

Friday evening temperatures will remain in the low to mid 60s, with breezy winds coming from the southwest and partly cloudy skies. Rain will occur for parts of Southeast Georgia through sunset.

Saturday temperatures will peak into the upper 70s to low 80s as winds increase from the southwest with rain beginning in the late afternoon. Accumulations for Southeast Georgia will range from a quarter to half an inch. While accumulation in Northeast Florida will be closer to a trace to a quarter of an inch. Rain continues through Sunday.
