JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Players is in full swing at TPC Sawgrass and the first round of The Players begins Thursday morning. Will the weather impact the event? The answer is yes as a cold front will move into our region later in the upcoming week.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy and warm along the coast with temperatures in the low 80s. No weather impacts are expected on Wednesday. Thursday is different though as we are tracking a cold front.

A spotty shower will be possible in the morning, but activity won’t be widespread. The most widespread activity will arrive in the afternoon and evening. Scattered showers and storms will be possible and could contain gusty wind and frequent lightning.
Rainfall amounts around 0.25-1″ can be expected with isolated totals over 3″, especially for those areas that see several rounds of storms. The good news is that extensive clouds cover in the morning will limit any potential for severe weather.
Clouds and perhaps an isolated shower will be around on Friday depending on how far south the front moves. Regardless, activity will be less widespread and should not impact the event.
