JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Strong thunderstorms are possible late this morning through the afternoon for southeast Georgia, northeast Florida, bringing damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, frequent lightning and heavy downpours. A few storms could produce isolated tornadoes or hail, but the main threats are high winds, lightning and localized flooding.
Timing & track: storms will push quickly east this morning, crossing areas just south of I‑10 from late morning into early afternoon and moving offshore by mid‑afternoon.
Rain amounts: Most spots will see 0.5″–1.5″ of rain today; some southeast GA locations could pick up around 2″ in heavier cells.
Wind: Expect damaging gusts of 40–60 mph in the strongest storms south of Waycross. North FL will be breezy to windy ahead of the storms with sustained 20–25 mph with frequent 30–35 mph gusts near midday.

Temps: North of I‑10 generally around 70. South of I‑10 around the 80s.
Conditions clear from north to south this evening as the front moves offshore.
