Above-normal heat, breezy conditions expected in northeast Florida, southeast Georgia

Saturday forecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – High temperatures are expected to push above normal levels on Saturday, climbing into the lower to middle 90s across inland areas this afternoon. Along the I-95 corridor folks can expect slightly more relief, with highs holding in the upper 80s.

Beaches will stay in the upper 70s, low 80s with an onshore breeze. Rip current risk is high, keeping the ocean dangerous to all swimmers. Stay near a lifeguard if you’re going into the 77-degree water.

The southeast breeze will keep it breezy around the area throughout the afternoon, with sustained winds around 15 mph and gusts reaching up to 25 mph at times.

Tonight: Isolated storms fade, fog stays mostly at bay

A few inland, non-severe storms should fade quickly after sunset, leaving mostly fair skies for the overnight hours.

Temperatures tonight will remain slightly above normal, with overnight lows only dropping into the mid to upper 60s across inland areas and the lower 70s along the Atlantic Coast. It won’t be a cool night by any stretch.

Patchy fog is possible near sunrise.
