Unity in the Community: Saturday’s event raises awareness about gun violence, murder in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A local event is raising awareness about gun violence and murder within the Greater Jacksonville area.

The “Unity in the Community” event will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Riverfront Plaza (former site of the Jacksonville Landing) from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event is free to attend and will feature live music, vendors, a BBQ cookoff, a skateboard clinic, and food trucks. The event will end with a candlelight vigil for all of the families that have lost a loved one to murder.

The theme “Unity in the Community” aims to bring people together in unity to help stop violent crime in Jacksonville.
