Farm Share distribution in Lake Butler on Saturday

Farm Share will be holding a food distribution event in Lake Butler on Saturday.

From 8 a.m. until supplies last, attendees will receive fresh produce and non-perishable canned goods.

The event, at 155 NW 3rd St. in Lake Butler, is drive-thru only, and attendees must come in a vehicle with a trunk or cargo bed.

Farm Share strives to meet the needs of more than 3.9 million families suffering from food insecurity throughout Florida. The Farm Share organization works side-by-side with local farmers to recover and redistribute produce that would otherwise be discarded due to aesthetic imperfections, the organization said.

Farm Share distributes food to the community through a network of soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, churches, and senior centers across Florida free of charge. You can find a food pantry near you at www.farmshare.org/food-pantries.
