With three naval bases and more than 100,000 veterans living in the area, the military tradition is strong in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
On this Memorial Day, we honor the sacrifices of all those who have died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Below is a list of local observances happening around the area on Monday:
Duval County
City of Jacksonville Memorial Day Observance: The City of Jacksonville’s Military Affairs and Veterans Department along with Wounded Warrior Project will hold its annual Memorial Day Observance beginning at 8 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Wall on East Adams Street. This is a free event with free parking in Lot P.
Clay County
Green Cove Springs Riverfest: The day’s highlight is the memorial and veterans’ recognition ceremony. Event runs from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. at Spring Park in Green Cove Springs.
Orange Park Memorial Day Service at Magnolia Cemetery: The Orange Park Fire Department & the Town of Orange Park will host its annual Memorial Day Service starting at 9 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery on Kingsley Avenue. Parking is available across the street at Clarke House Park.
St. Johns County
St. Augustine National Cemetery Memorial Day Observance: The ceremony from 10-11 a.m. at the St. Augustine National Cemetery begins with music and the presentation of massed flags from area veterans organizations. Speakers will also read the names of local veterans who have died in the past year.
Nassau County
Fernandina Beach Memorial Day Service: Event host by American Legion Post 54 begins at 11 a.m. near the “Monument To Our Fallen” at the Fernandina Harbor Marina.
Alachua County
Annual Memorial Day Ceremony: Alachua County Veteran Services, in partnership with the City of Gainesville, VyStar Credit Union and Milam Funeral Home, invites the community to attend the annual Memorial Day ceremony, starting at 10 a.m. at the historic Evergreen Cemetery (401 SE 21st Ave., Gainesville).
Baker County
Wreath Laying Ceremony: Heritage Park Village and American Legion Post 83 are hosting a wreath-laying ceremony at 10 a.m.
Bradford County
Memorial Day Ceremony: Begins at 10 a.m. at Veterans’ Park in Downtown Starke at the Square.
Flagler County
Memorial Day Ceremony: Join the City of Palm Coast as it remembers America’s heroes, starting at 9 a.m. at Heroes Memorial Park on Palm Coast Parkway.
Camden County
St. Marys Memorial Day Ceremony: Honor and Remember this Memorial Day by attending this annual event presented by local James Jarret Brown VFW Post 8385. Event begins at 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Glynn County
Brunswick Memorial Day Ceremony 2026: The Veterans Council of the Golden Isles invites the community to gather at Veterans Memorial Park in Downtown Brunswick as we honor the men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to our country. Even begins at 10 a.m. at I Street and 341.
