Infectious disease expert shares concerns about handling next pandemic amid Ebola, hantavirus, measles outbreaks

Health officials say the Ebola virus is ravaging the Congo. There are more than 500 suspected cases and 136 death reports. And the virus appears to be spreading.

Then you have worries about hantavirus and the breakout among cruise ship passengers.

And let’s not forget measles resurfaced here in the U.S.

It’s a virtual confluence of outbreaks worldwide, and it raises fears and questions about the ability to handle another pandemic.

Dr. Amesh Adalja, the Senior Scholar at Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security & Infectious Disease, joined us on The Morning Show to share concerns about the United States’ ability to effectively handle the next pandemic.
