When the Publix supermarkets under construction in Fernandina Beach and St. Johns County’s SilverLeaf community open their doors, visitors will be able to enjoy some new experiences.
According to a report from our news partners at the Jacksonville Daily Record, the new stores will include Publix Pours bars with beer and wine, smoothies, acai bowls and more, plus expanded deli menus that include burrito bowls, pizza and other items.

Building permits list the size of both stores at 55,701 square feet, which reflects Publix’s new prototype, according to JDR.
Hannah Herring, a Publix media relations manager, told JDR that the Silverleaf store is expected to open in the spring of 2026, though a firm opening date has not been announced.
The Fernandina store, which is replacing a closed store at 1421 Sadler Road, will open in the Island Walk Shopping Center in the third quarter of this year, Herring told JDR.
