JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A second man who was the victim of a double shooting last week has died.

Bernarde Evans died Saturday at a hospital from gunshot wounds he suffered Jan. 30 in the double shooting in Arlington.

Andrew Simmons, 25, turned himself in to police in connection with the shootings after investigators said Evans identified him as the shooter. Simmons is charged with aggravated battery.

Police said he shot Evans and 34-year-old Cecil Coleman in the 1000 block of Bert Road while he was driving in a Chevy Impala.

Coleman was pronounced dead at a hospital, and Evans underwent surgery before dying days later.
