JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for attempting to entice and meet a 13-year-old child for sex, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida said.
Adeis Jonathan Francis, 26, also was ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release and register as a sex offender. He pleaded guilty May 28 and has remained in custody since his March 6 arrest.

According to court documents, an undercover FBI agent posing as a 13-year-old child communicated with Francis through a social media app and text messages between Feb. 17 and March 6. After being told the child was 13, Francis requested photos, discussed sexual activity and made plans to meet the child in person.
Francis traveled to the area of the child’s purported residence on March 6, where FBI agents arrested him, according to court documents.
During an interview after his arrest, Francis said, “I’m not gonna get to go home for months” and “so I’m going to prison,” according to court documents.
