Monster Jam roars through EverBank Field

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Nineteen trucks took over the home of the Jaguars Saturday night, and what is normally a grassy playing field for football players was replaced with 300 truck loads of dirt and mud for Monster Jam.

Throughout the week, thousands of people have been at EverBank field getting a sneak peak at the monster trucks before they headed inside for one of the loudest, dirtiest and heart-racing events in the city.

Prior to the event, free rides in a monster truck were given to anyone looking for a thrill. Ethan Fulp was one of the young ones who went for a test run.

"I love monster trucks," he said. "They jump and do flips and they crush the cars!"

Essentially, the trucks racing the course face-off with another driver. The real crowd pleaser is always Grave Digger, and another favorite is its "son" which is Son Uva Grave Digger.

"This is always good for Jacksonville and for Grave Digger to come out and do a great job like he does always," said Franklin Weatherspoon, who has been going to the event for the last 10 years.

The stands were completely filled Saturday night - more than 65,000 fans showed up at EverBank Field.
