Man impersonating security guard gets 5 years in prison

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who posed as a security guard was sentenced this week to five years in prison for a felony violation of a cease-and-desist order issued by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Dustin Michael Keeley posed as an armed security guard without the proper license in August 2013.

Keeley was originally licensed to work as an unarmed security guard but had his license revoked due to a separate felony arrest, police said.

Despite never having his license reinstated, officials said the Keeley continued to pose as law enforcement and openly carry his gun.

Police said they arrested Keeley on multiple occasions for violating a court order to not act like a security guard, including an incident in which he illegally held an individual in handcuffs for not doing what Keeley said.

After continuing to violate the law, Keeley was arrested and charged with a felony and was convicted and sentenced by a judge to the maximum five year sentence.
