Jacksonville police search for escaped inmate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are searching for 29-year-old Jonathan Johnson, an inmate who escaped from a community release program on the Westside.

According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Johnson left the Brides of Jacksonville off Beaver and Lane Avenue around 10 a.m. on Sunday. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weights 166 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He also has a tattoo on his left arm.

Johnson was serving a 10-year sentence for leaving the scene of a crash with injuries and eluding a law enforcement officer, among other charges.
