One man is dead in a hit and run accident in Flagler County

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A pedestrian killed in an early Saturday morning hit-and-run accident in Flagler County has been identified as Cesar Rojas.

Christopher Layer, 32, was driving west on State Road 100 at 12:30 a.m. when the left side of his car hit Rojas, who was trying to walk across the road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Flagler Beach resident was thrown to the side of the road. Layer stopped to call police, saying he had hit someone in the road and left the scene because his license was suspended. Investigators said Layer later called again, informing police the location of his car. 

Layer turned himself in and his car was taken as evidence. Troopers said he had not yet been arrested, but charges are pending.
