Man shot in NW Jacksonville carjacking

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are looking for two gunmen after a carjacking and shooting Wednesday morning on West 6th Street.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it happened about 7:40 a.m. on West 6th near Stafford Street. Officers said and adult was hospitalized and the Chevrolet Impala was recovered at another location. Police said the car was a rental.

The condition of the victim was not provided. Police said they were looking for two suspects, but did not provide any description.

Police said they were working a robbery to an individual call nearby when the report of a shooting came in. They don't yet know if the incidents are related. 

Part of West 6th Street a few blocks north of Eugene Butler Middle School was blocked off as part of the investigation.
