The "Celebrate Good" dinner honored volunteers who have made the biggest impact in the community. It comes as a wrap-up to National Volunteer Week and along with Jacksonville and the state of Florida's Volunteer Month.
"This is an event that’s going to take volunteers and celebrate everything they’ve done, from organizations that have done great things to individuals that have lifetime achievement. Jacksonville is one of the top volunteer cities in the United States and HandsOn Jacksonville is key to that," said Michael Fleming, chair of HandsOn Jacksonville.
Honorees included Chevara Orrin, an advocate for bridging cultural differences, and Elaine Carson, known to most as "Mrs. P," who has dedicated her life to welcoming and resettling refugees in the community.
