Man shot at NW Jacksonville apartment

Police have little information, search for shooter


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot at a Northwest Jacksonville apartment complex and taken to the hospital early Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Lt. Ashish Sircar said the man was shot at a small apartment building on West 20th Street and was found about a block away around 6:30 a.m. 

He was taken to UF Health Jacksonville. The extent of his injuries was unknown.

Police said they do not know what led up to the shooting or who the shooter was. No weapons were found at either scene. Police were canvassing the area looking for witnesses or other information that could help them find out more about the shooting.
