MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A woman reported as missing in February has been found safe, according to Marion County Sheriff's deputies.

A search for Kayla Timmons began after the 25-year-old went missing. At the time, the Marion County Sheriff's office said that she was  believed to be with the man she was dating, Adam Laurich, 34.

Wednesday, Marion County Sheriffs' deputies said that Timmons met with law enforcement in another county, and those officers spoke with Marion County detectives. "They conducted a well-being check on both subjects and verified they were both safe. The allegations of kidnapping was unfounded so the case has been closed," according to officials at the Marion County Sheriff's office.

Because there was no kidnapping, Laurich is not a suspect or person of interest.

Deputies are asking for the public's help finding a missing and endangered 25-year-old woman who may be in Palatka or Orange Park, the Marion County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday evening.

On Feb. 12, deputies said Timmons' family received a text message from a phone number believed to belong to Laurich, which led the family to feel that she may be in danger.
