2 armed men rob The Loop in Neptune Beach, police say

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – Police in Neptune Beach released a surveillance photo Wednesday showing one of two men wanted after an armed robbery Tuesday night at The Loop restaurant on 3rd Street.

Cmdr. Mike Key with the Neptune Beach Police Department said the robbery was reported just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. It took police only a minute to respond, as the Police Department is less than a block from The Loop. Despite that, the robbers had already fled the area by the time officers arrived.

According to Key, the two men entered through the back. One was carrying an assault rifle and the other was carrying a handgun.

The men forced the manager into the office and took money from the safe, Key said. They then left the area driving west on Atlantic Boulevard in a silver Ford Fusion.

No one inside the restaurant was hurt, Key said.

Statement from The Loop:

The Loop is fully cooperating with the police on the investigation into last night’s incident at the Neptune Beach location. We are respecting the privacy of our employees at this time. We are thankful there were no injuries during this serious situation. The safety of our employees and guests is always our No. 1 priority.

The Police Department said the two robbers were black men wearing dark clothing and masks. One man was wearing sunglasses.

The other man was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a yellow Vans logo and Adidas shoes. The Police Department released a surveillance photo of that man Wednesday.
