Why Social Security recipients won’t get an SSI check in August. Here’s what you need to know

If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) through the Social Security Administration (SSA), you won’t get a receive a payment in August.

According to the 2026 Schedule of Social Security Benefit Payments, the next payment for SSI will be made July 31. The next payment after that will be September 1.

SSI are typically paid out on the first of the month. If the first of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment is made on the business day before. This means there will not be any SSI payments in November as well since the first of the month falls on a Sunday.

According to the SSA, SSI payments are eligible for people living with disabilities and adults and children who have little or no income or resources. You can find out if you’re eligible here.
